The WSMC13 - 13th International Conference on Statistics, Mathematics and Computation will be hosted by the Universidade Aberta in collaboration with CEAUL-Center of Statistics and it Applications of University of Lisbon, CMAUBI-Center of Mathematics and Applications of University of Beira Interior, CIMA-Research Centre for Mathematics and Applications of University of Évora and CMA - (Centre for Mathematics and Applications) of NOVA University of Lisbon, continuing in the spirit of twelve earlier meetings, this year the event returns to Lisbon. The Universidade Aberta will host WSMC13 at Department of Sciences and Technology located HERE in Rua Almirante Barroso, 38, Lisbon, Portugal. In this conference we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of Professor João Tiago Mexia, who will honour us with a lecture note presentation.

The format for the meeting will include plenary talks, thematic sessions, sessions with contributed talks and posters. The conference includes invited presentations by renowned scientists, and will provide an opportunity to learn about the latest statistical, mathematical and computational methodologies. Another goal of the conference is to strengthen relationships in the statistical and mathematical community and researchers who apply statistics and mathematics in other fields. Students are encouraged to participate and present their projects to conference attendees.
